Egyptian-born British artist and painter Moustafa is an Arabic calligraphy instructor and Arabic Language Teacher at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK.

Having begun his artistic career in Egyptian theatre, where he won acclaim for innovative stage design, Moustafa Hassan Is now established as one of the UK’s leading exponents of Arabic calligraphy.

Moustafa produces complex and yet surprisingly accessible artworks in which images and language perform repetitions and rehearsals.

He engages with universal themes such as stability and the search for meaning through his exploration of ‘Divine Attributes’, the role of the artist and individual subjectivity. Passed down the centuries from master to student.
